You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.This kitten was taken to our ACO by someone when their dog got hold of it. Amanda bottlefed it a few days, then sent it to foster and Zoey bottlefed it. The kitten is now on solid food and about one month from spay/neuter. He looks like a little skunk, even carrying his tail like one. He has some sort of issue with his neck, because he holds his head tilted. Not sure why. Very friendly and playful. The Clay County Animal Shelter is located at xxxx0 Hwy. 45 in Louisville, IL. Their phone number is 618-665-xxxx. The shelter is open to the public 1-3 M-F. Sundays we are open 1-4 to the public. We have adoption events every 1st and 3rd Saturday from 10-2 at Orscheln's in Flora. If those times don't work, please call to set up a time to visit. The adoption fee is $50 for dogs and includes vaccination (one shot of 5 way for adult dogs and two shots of 5 way two weeks apart for puppies as well as deworming) as well as microchipping, which is now mandatory by state law. On dogs we have spayed/neutered, we ask for the spay/neuter fee to be covered as well. We get a shelter rate for spay/neuter, so our rates are $55-70 for male dogs and $75-90 for female dogs. All cats are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Kittens (under six months of age) are $40. Cats older than six months are $20. It costs us more than that to spay/neuter/microchip/vaccinate and deworm the kittens and cats, but we subsidize the adoption fees to help save cat and kitten lives.
